I had been in Perth for nearly a week, and still not found any savs. Not even coastal locations like Fremantle or Mandurah yielded any delicious battered savs. It was time for a survey: ask the locals if they'd ever heard of a battered sav.

The answer was a unanimous 'nay'. Oh, the humanity! An entire state full of people who've never had a battered sav!

Upon describing a battered sav, I was informed that the nearest thing was a crumbed beef sausage. I bought the first crumbed beef sausage I saw, from a take-away at the Perth train station. Expecting an experience similar to a battered frank, I was quite surprised.

Beef sausages are always a winner, but the interesting thing about this snack is the spices are in the crumbed coating. Spicy crumb plus beef sausage, what's not to like? This one gets an 8/10!
