This is the first non-permanent looking food van I have come across which seems to stock the Sav.
The guy who runs the place is a bit of a laugh, but the Savs are far from it. There is a lot of room for improvement, but that doesn't mean the Savs are't worth scoffing.
The batter is the trump card...the only thing keeping it above a 5.0 or 5.5 rating. Crisp, tasty and perfect in every way. Although, having said this, woe betide he who sample this sav when it has been sitting under the heat lamps all day....hard, chewy, and the antithesis of everything sav batter should be. The man knows his batter, as he used to be a baker, so when it's fresh....it's one of the best batters out there.
The sausage is like a frank/saveloy hybrid. Not frank, not Sav, not bad, not good. Doesn't know whether it's Arthur or Martha.
The sav is served with no salt....and suprisingly...none is required.
This sav could use a better sausage to fill the delectable batter, which is pretty special when fresh.
All in all, a god sav, not a great one, but well worth stopping in if you're in Civic.
